Pittsylvania County beef and wine-grape producer Joseph H. Williams of Chatham was elected to a fifth term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors in December 2008.

Williams chairs the VFBF Legislative Committee and Wine Grape Advisory Committee and is vice chair of the Flue-Cured Tobacco Committee. He also serves on the board of the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture, Innovation and Rural Sustainability.

Williams has been a Farm Bureau member since 1971 and is past president of the Pittsylvania County Farm Bureau. He is a graduate of the Virginia State Police Academy and served as a Virginia state trooper for eight years.
